Curtain Maker Mentors Sewing Enthusiast

It’s surprising how quickly you can brush up on a faintly acquired skill.  I’ve had the joy of making some unusual and cute clothes pin bags in the last couple of months of lockdown.  It started when I was sorting out my randome linen stores – having acquired a lot of mismatched sheets and pillow cases over the years.  I’ve had great fun undoing side seams and deciding how best to match tops with linings and finding smaller coat hangers to suit the purpose.  This brought me to needing more sewing suppies so I very gingerly entered a long established curtain making shop in town which had been shut for lockdown but as soon as allowed, they reopened for business.  I found incredible range of threads, sewing accessories, all kinds of habidashery items and   . . . The owner was so helpful and encouraging, I ended up buying lots of other goods and it fired my crafting ideas and he showed me how I could greatly improve my sewing techniques.  Now that’s what you call an inspiring trader!
